Escape To The Safe House.

This story/play is based on the stories of runaway slaves seeking freedom from the slaves masters during the slavery time.

Characters:

Slaves: 2 or more. (May wear slaves customs)

Slaves Master: 2 or more. (May wear slaves master custom.)

Frederick Douglas. (May wear custom.)

Hariet Tubman. (May wear custom.)

Drummer: 1.

Touch Lights.

Whip.

Dogs.

Drum.

Act: 1: A narrator step on the stage and speak briefly about history of Underground Railroad.

Act: 2: In the background. A drummer will beat a drum for about one minute. (The drum beat sound should have an african team.) (This is to get the audience and the actors ready.)

Act: 3: We hear the sound of backing dogs in the background.

Act: 4: We hear the sounds of slaves footsteps in hurry and rushing to escape and  hide from the slave masters.

Act: 5: The slaves quietly talk among each other. slave 1 says. Let's run faster. Slave 2 says which way are we going. Slave 3 says We are going to the SAFE house.

Act: 6: In the background we hear dogs barking. We hear the slaves masters talking among each other. Slave master 1. holding a touch light and searching for the runaway slaves. shouting where did this slaves ran to. Slave master 2. Holding a whip and angrily shouting, we must find them and punish them definitely while angrily beating the floor with the whip. Slave master 3: Holding the dogs and commanding the dogs to go get the runaway slaves.

Act: 7: The sounds of the drum beat faster as the slaves are running, hidding and scrambling to escape from the slave masters and the dogs.

Act: 8: The slaves masters and their dogs ran after the slaves but did not see them.

Act: 9: The runaway slaves running towards the safe house but hide in hurry when they hear the dogs barking and the slaves masters voices.

Act: 10: The slaves masters and their barking dogs hurried towards the stage. Shinning the touch light and looking for the runaway slaves.

Act: 11: Slaves masters having conversation among each other. Slave master1: where are these slaves hidding. Slaves master 2: I think they ran that way. The slaves masters turned around and went back.

Act: 12: Frederick Douglas and Harriet Tubman came out from where they were hidding when they noticed that the slaves masters has gone back. Frederick Douglas and Hariet Tubman hurriedly and in haste summoned for the slaves to hurry up and come in.

Act: 13: The runaway slaves in haste ran from where they were hidding and ran towards Frederick Douglas and Hariet Tubman. (Stage lights turned off.) (Everyone is now hidding.)

Act: 14: Suddenly one of the slaves masters says. I heard the slaves footsteps. Now the slaves masters and their dogs ran back towards the stage looking for the slaves. Then they turn around and left in hurry.

Act: 15: (Stage lights turned on) Frederick Douglas and Hariet Tubman came out into the stage. Frederick Douglas introduce himself and tell story/make a speech about himself. Hariet Tubman introduce herself and tell story/make a speech about herself.

Act: 16: All the actors and actresses come back to the stage and take a bow.

                   The End.

Note/Option: When all the actors and actresses get back on the stage, they may choose to sing african american spiritual song on stage before they bow/final curtain.
